Sequence Celebrates Our 10th Anniversary

This year, Sequence celebrates its 10-year anniversary. It’s an important moment for our company and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in the last decade. It’s also a good reminder for us to step back and savor the successes we’ve delivered for our clients, reflect on how we’ve evolved as a team, and share our excitement about where the business is headed.  

Sequence is an independent agency that designs and develops connected experiences for the world’s best-known and most innovative brands. Our roster of long-term clients includes Chipotle Mexican Grill, Chevron, Apple and The Ellen Show. Sequence has designed and developed marquee experiences for these companies as well as category-defining innovators like OpenTable, Google Ventures, Google X, Sonos and Roku.

Over the last 10 years, Sequence has evolved its service offerings and processes to help its clients connect with their customers in new and meaningful ways. In a sensor-filled, smartphone-connected world, Sequence has worked with clients to conceive, design and develop holistic connected experiences that thoughtfully integrate digital elements, physical spaces and front-line personnel.

We started in San Francisco – and then expanded to New York City – and are fortunate today to have a talented team across both offices of 75 people with expertise in strategy, interaction design, visual design, copywriting, motion design, software development and project management. Fueled by this wealth of talent and an operating philosophy that embraces change, Sequence has seen average annual client and staff growth of 35% since 2005.

Here are just a few of the milestones that mark Sequence’s growth and success over the past ten years:

2005: Company founded in San Francisco

2008: Designed Chevron.com, named best brand building site of the year by Forrester

2009: Created first nationwide restaurant ordering app for iPhone for Chipotle

2011: Established relationship with Apple

2012: Opened second studio in New York City

2013: Designed retail service experience pilot programs for Best Buy

2014: Established Heads Up! game development partnership with The Ellen Show

And now, on to the next ten years. Looking forward to 2025, Sequence plans to be a key partner to existing and new clients who strive to deliver outstanding brand experiences that are both personal and in tune with a rapidly evolving world. This means looking at a full spectrum of touch points integrating the real, analog with the borderless, digital.

We are grateful to our anchor clients who have trusted and stood by Sequence for years: clients like Chevron, Chipotle and Apple. I’d like to also thank our talented team of 75 employees that challenge each and every one of us to deliver great design and brand experiences.
