September in San Francisco means two things: summer is finally here, and it’s time for dodgeball!
For those of you who aren’t quite as obsessed as we are, a little background: every year at around this time, hundreds of the Bay Area’s best designers and developers emerge from their darkened offices, don festive attire, and gather to compete and celebrate our yearly tradition of dodging, catching and throwing (and maybe a little bit of drinking in between).Dodgeball is the name of the game, and here at Sequence we take it very seriously. So seriously, in fact, that we stay up late the night before the big tournament planning strategy while lovingly hand-crafting our now-famous Jell-o shots (available in four different flavor combinations this year).
This year our team theme was Game of Throws, and we took the field equipped with our proud house crest emblazoned on our banner and uniforms, filled with determination and carrying a giant cooler full of brightly colored alcoholic Jell-o.
We’ll spare you the play-by-play of our exciting journey up through the brackets to a dramatic final game against our arch-rivals and dodgeball nemesis fuseproject, but suffice it say that we had a great time. And while at the end of the day we didn’t take home the trophy, we did make a lot of new friends and returned feeling proud, tired and happy (and carrying an empty cooler).
So now that dodgeball is officially over for the year, we can finally get back to work and turn our attention to the next big event in our thoughts: Dodgeball 2015!
