Going for Gold at Cut&Paste

We have an empty desk at Sequence SF this week. Sr. Visual Designer Tom Gurka (previously of Dodgeball 2012 fame) is headed to NYC to represent SF (and AMERICA) in the Cut&Paste Global Championships.

For those of you unfamiliar with the legend of Cut&Paste, here’s a bit of background: Teams consisting of one 2D and one 3D designer participate in a knock-down, drag-out, high-pressure, timed digital design competition in front of a live (and very raucous) crowd in cities all over the world. Winners of those cities go on to compete in the Global Championship for prizes and, of course, fame. This year, they’ll be designing around the theme “Break That Funk”, creating concepts that can inspire creativity in people who are experiencing a creative block.

The Global Championships will be held tomorrow, November 16 at 6:30pm at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in NYC. You can get tickets and more info about the event here.

Good luck Tom – bring home the gold (and the prizes)!
